I am a liar
I lie to myself daily
I tell myself that I am happy
I don't heed to my inner man
but an outward responsibility

I am a liar
I must cover up
hide from me
I move through
my current existence
playing the role, the game
but I'm hurting

I am a liar
luckily I've learned
to manipulate
to justify why I stay
why I go, why I love
why I hate
I know I hold the key
I'm scared of freedom

I am a liar
blocking out the
heavens
refusing to heed
to my heart and
my passion
the pain is great
allowing medication
to come in the form
of false love

save me.

Yeah, another Prince discussion. This man has saved my soul through the years. A follow Prince fan always refers to Prince as the ultimate "pimp". He speaks of how smooooooth Prince is lyrically. I came across the video for "If I Was Your Girlfriend," taken from the Sign of the times film. I started gigglin'. Prince IS a pimp. So clever. Witty. Smooth.
